Yesterday my piece Esta lingua aínda non existe (This Language Does Not Yet Exist), commissioned by the Festival Mixtur, was performed at the Electroacoustic Music concert at Fabra i Coats. It was a great concert with lots of acousmatic spatial music of fellow composers.
This puts and end of a fantastic week of workshops, concerts and talks.
The 3rd Woodwinds Summer Camp has started! I’ll be there on the 20th, to present and attend the performance of my piece Floresta fraturada (Fractured forest). Concert will be at 18:30. I’ll see you there!

This summer, I’ll be delighted to be one of the four resident composers at the 3rd Woodwinds Summer Camp of the Arte Piacere association. The theme this year are soundscapes, a subject I’m interested in and that I’ve worked in the past. See you in Monforte on August 18th!
Today I’ve released what’s going to be the main theme for the app of the tabletop hybrid game I’m working on, Warcrow Adventures. The app is going to be the companion for the game, and will be released for smartphone, tablet and computer through Steam.
I’ve been at Pólo Zero speaking about my work in Warcrow Adventures music, and hanging out with fellow developers to know about their projects too. Lovely evening!

One of the problems I usually face when programming for an interactive piece is how to handle harmony, that is, how is it possible for the computer to make decisions about which chord to choose, and which voicings to apply.
I started this research project because I think there is an interesting relationship between game and music, up to the point that I think there are several dimensions of music that have some kind of playful facet, from creation to audition, including interpretation. Play refers in English and many other languages the performance of music and the act of participate in a game. In this post I will talk about how I created the first musical game, using Max MSP.
My piece As estruturas de Solaris has been awarded 1st prize in the 13th Composition Contest of Póvoa de Varzim. My colleague and friend Manuel Brásio obtained 2nd place with Ministério do Caos. Both were performed by the Drumming Grupo de Percussão. Thank you Associação Pró-Musica da Póvoa de Varzim for this opportunity!
